Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry

About the Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry

The Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry was founded in the wake of the devastating 1990 Plainfield tornado. Amid destruction and hardship, local faith communities came together with a shared mission—to ensure that no family in our area would go hungry. What began as an emergency relief effort has since grown into a vital community resource, providing food and support to those in need. Today, we remain committed to our founding principles of compassion, dignity, and service.

The Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry is a 100% volunteer-run organization, with no paid employees, ensuring that every donation directly benefits the individuals and families we serve. As a registered 501(c)(3) charity, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue our mission. Whether you need assistance, want to give back, or are looking for ways to volunteer, we welcome you to be a part of our community-driven effort.
